In business, there’s a quiet but potent shift that happens when you move from reaction into leadership. From waiting for results, to designing them. From hoping someone buys, to confidently guiding them into your world. I call this moment ‘Taking Control’. And it changes everything
When you’re disempowered in business, everything is hard. You don’t make decisions, you defer following up, you delay and doubt every move. Then you WAIT.
But, here’s the thing, YOU must take control of your business if you want to hit those higher-level sales targets you’ve set yourself. YOU must be in control of your lead generation, your sales process and yourself. And not like a crazy power-hungry dictator, but like the empowered woman you are.
You don’t need to control in a rigid, micro-managing sense. But rather the kind of control and empowered moves that come when you stop winging it, coasting and tinkering around the edges of your sales strategy, and decide to step into full command of your audience, your offers and your results.
YOU are the leader and the boss. And you must move from Stressed-Out Service Provider to Selling CEO Queen to achieve what you have set out to achieve. You can do it, one decision and one action at a time.
I see it all the time: brilliant business owners doing all the things. They’re visible. They’re building. They’re showing up. But the sales aren’t reflecting the effort, and honestly, they’re exhausted and utterly confused.
When I look closer, it’s not usually a visibility problem. Very often my clients have sizable audiences and active brands. It’s also not a pricing problem. It’s a power problem. They’ve unconsciously outsourced control. So let me ask you – where are you feeling out of control right now in life or business? Is it time for YOU to take back control?
Start by asking yourself these questions:
- Where have I relinquished control?
- Are my clients leading me or am I leading them? (think about scope creep, under pricing and over delivering perhaps?)
- Where is there friction in my buyer journey?
- Where am I assuming (and dare I say, hoping) people will buy, instead of actively selling?
This might sting, but most people aren’t making the sales they could be making. YOU are not making the sales you could be. Not because your services aren’t good enough, but because you’re leaving money on the table – probably a lot of it. Sales opportunities are sitting quietly in your business, waiting to be claimed right now. So, don’t outsource your sales or rely on ‘luck’ when all you need is to take back control.
Most business owners are sitting in half-finished conversations; in warm leads that never got followed up; in past clients who would buy again if they were invited; in loyal communities with no clear pathway into your next offer.
And if you’ve ever felt like your results aren’t matching your potential, you don’t need a brand new strategy – you just need to look under the bonnet of your existing one and activate what’s already there.
